You deserve a therapist who gets what you're going through.
You have been carrying a lot, putting everyone else’s needs and dreams before your own. It’s starting to take a toll on you. You need an outlet.
You do not need to be fixed. You simply need to be heard by someone who actually understands and can help develop a plan to achieve your goals. I'd love to be that for you.

Hi there, I'm Kim.
The therapist behind KD Therapy. I value people, I value relationships, and I believe none of us can do this alone.
I spent years working with domestic violence survivors in rural North Carolina and active-duty service members during and after the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns. I have also worked with patients who have experienced and survived cardiac events. Through all of it, one thing became clear to me: suffering is suffering. The circumstances may look different, but the human experience beneath is the same, and the way people cope with it deserves compassion, not judgment.
I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, family and relationship issues, and substance use. My approach is conversational and present. I'm a Gestalt therapist, which really just means I show up as a whole person and pay attention to what you're saying, to what you're not saying, and to what's happening between us in the room.
When you leave a session with me, I want you to feel heard, I want you to feel understood, and I want us both to walk away knowing we have a real plan for your next step forward.
Your therapy should feel like it was made for you. Because it is.
When therapy fits you, the results go deeper than just feeling better for a week.
You develop the tools and clarity to show up differently in your life. To be more present, more connected, and more confident in where you're headed.
I am trained in EMDR, Gottman, CPT, CBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic and Internal Family Systems. I work from a Gestalt framework, which is humanistic.
